Fans of the Fallout series, help me. I just recently got some time to tuck into it, and I’m having a hard time staying invested and immersed. I feel like the creators of the series really missed out on giving us a badass story, and instead gave us something that I find very difficult to digest.

Time and time again, I’m having to suspend my disbelief and try my hardest not to go off on a rant mid-episode, so that my wife can at least watch it in peace. So I really want to know from you, is it even worth continuing?

10. Destiny 2

Alright, so Destiny 2 doesn’t have too much to do with Fallout in terms of immediate aesthetics. One game is a post apocalyptic RPG, and the other is a sci-fi shooter that takes place centuries after a post-apocalypse. See, in actuality, Fallout and Destiny 2 share a few things in common and this could be the perfect game to play afterward. Sure you’re essentially a god with all the abilities at your disposal as opposed to a lowly Vault Dweller, but don’t let that stop you.

In this day and age, older popular games typically get remade for newer consoles and devices for that “next gen” experience. However, Aggressive-Film3872 is embarking on a “demake” for Fallout 3 to be played on the Gameboy.

Fallout 3 is a hotly debated game, with some saying it’s lack of QoL features and dated aspects making it obtuse and enjoyable, with others saying that it’s the most “Fallouty” of the Bethesda Fallout titles. Whatever your opinions are on Fallout 3, this project will surely interest you.

I didn’t have high hopes for Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series. Blame the long, long history of bad video game adaptations for those expectations. Yet, I walked away from its eight-episode first season astounded by how well they translated an open-world first-person RPG into a high-budget prestige streaming series. While the nature of the video game series presented the show’s creators with a chance to tell an original story set within a firmly established world packed with deep reservoirs of lore, it also presented them with the more intriguing opportunity to adapt not just the story of a video game, but the medium itself.

The wasteland is a large and desolate place, full of horrors beyond the comprehension of the modern mind. However, despite its many terrors of Fallout, sometimes you just have to stand there and wait, sometimes for a solid 24 hours.

In Fallout, the wait function can be used to pass time for an NPC to turn up, for an event to occur, or just so you don’t have to wander into a Deathclaw-infested hellscape in the dark. 10. Vault 106

The bottom of our list is still a Vault I think you could survive in, but the chances are a little slimmer than the rest. Vault 106 shows up in Fallout 3 and was the Vault where the occupants were exposed to psychoactive drugs through the air filtration system just 10 days after the door was sealed.

Hundreds of games are released every year, and if you want to include indie devs, that number goes up to the thousands. It is, therefore, inevitable that some hidden gems avoid the praise and recognition they deserve. To right the wrongs of the industry, here are the most underrated games of all time.

14. Sly Cooper

You may disagree and say this got all the praise it deserves. However, I still feel that it has disappeared into the annals of time without its due credit. The Sly Cooper games, for me, were fantastic and some of the best the PlayStation had to offer at the time. I loved the quirky characters, fun and innovative movements, and use of stealth and equipment to keep ahead of the enemies. Maybe it is just an underrated game in comparison to its contemporaries in the golden age of gaming.

The Fallout series has had many entries throughout its life. You may not know that Bethesda hasn’t been around for all of the franchise’s life, so we’ll see if their intervention was for better or worse.

It is rather difficult to make an objective ranking, as some of the entries are so different. I will be ranking these games based on how well they serve the Fallout IP, as well as gameplay. And remember, modern gameplay isn’t necessarily better than old, even if it may be cleaner and what you’re used to.
